New building Delikant Feinkost

Future-proof location for Delikant: New construction and modernization in Rellingen

We carried out a comprehensive construction project for Delikant Feinkost GmbH at its new location in Rellingen. As the general contractor, we were responsible for the planning and implementation of almost 5,000 square meters of production and storage space. The project shows how existing buildings and new technical construction can be efficiently combined.

In order to maintain its own standards of quality and delivery capability even with growing order volumes, our customer needed new spatial solutions. The previous location had reached its economic limits due to production spread over two floors and limited storage space. Our task was to create an environment that would enable optimized goods flows and modern working conditions.

Sustainable combination of existing and new buildings
In close cooperation with the architectural firm Kerstin Junker, we implemented a concept that takes both ecological and economic aspects into account. A conscious decision was made to preserve the existing administration wing from the 1960s. This part of the building was completely renovated and brought up to current energy standards, which conserves resources and underlines the concept of sustainability.

For the sensitive areas of production and storage, however, a new building was essential in order to meet the high standards of the food industry. Here, we installed special hygienic floors with an integrated drainage system and halls with significantly increased ceiling heights. This enabled us to install a separate technical level above the production area, thereby cleanly separating the technical infrastructure from the hygiene area.

Efficiency through modern building technology
One focus of our work was on technical building equipment (TBE), which we implemented as an integral part of the contract. The goal was a future-proof solution with optimized operating costs. To this end, we installed an eligible refrigeration system that uses the natural refrigerants CO2 and propane. A central component of the system is the heat recovery concept: the waste heat generated is collected in a 36,000-liter buffer storage tank and intelligently returned to the operating cycle. It is used for hot water production and to support night-time cleaning processes.

Successful partnership
The result is a modern location that efficiently combines logistics and production. Hannah Pohlmann, managing director at Delikant, summarizes the collaboration as follows:

“With our new facility, we have brought production and storage together, which brings considerable advantages in terms of logistics. This enables us to fulfill customer requests even faster. With Plattenhardt + Wirth, we had a specialist company at our side that implemented the requirements for our new production facility in a cooperative and solution-oriented manner.”

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Delikant Feinkost GmbH for their trust and partnership.
