In order to comply with ASR A1.7, every operator of commercially used, power-operated door systems must have an annual safety inspection, including measurement of the closing forces, carried out and documented by an expert for each door system. The operator's obligations include in particular
- An annual safety inspection, including an operating force measurement on the closing edges of power-operated doors and gates by an expert.
- Regularly ensuring that employees are not exposed to any hazards at their place of work. The latest state of the art must be taken into account in accordance with the German Workplace Ordinance (ArbStättV). As a result, power-operated doors and gates in particular may not be subject to grandfathering.
